Cannon Place London, UK

The office fit-out of Cannon Place in London has included the installation of a Delmatic lighting management system which extends from the existing Delmatic system within shell and core areas of the building.

The award-winning development includes over 46,000 sq.m of offices, and the unique ‘inside-out’ design of the building with its exposed skeleton is an architectural response to its location directly above a major mainline station.

Delmatic initially provided lighting controls for shell and core areas throughout the building, including scene setting within the dramatic reception areas, as well as two office fit-out floors: this latest contract extends the system into the remaining office floors.

Each floor comprises four potential tenant zones and demands considerable flexibility to meet the individual requirements of different tenants.  The Delmatic system offers total flexibility with individual addressable control of each luminaire through Dali plug-in lighting control modules.

The system achieves energy-efficiency through presence detection, absence detection and daylight-linked dimming, and includes comprehensive Dali testing and monitoring of emergency lighting.  Tenants can enhance controls within their domain through the addition of scene-setting, touchpads and touchpanels, as well as achieve enhanced energy and operational efficiency by integrating services using the international standard Lon open protocol.

All changes to system configuration to suit tenants’ layout changes are made through “virtual wiring” software including the time-out periods of sensors and daylight dimming thresholds.  The complete system is managed and monitored through graphical head-end software which displays the active status of lighting as well as providing information on luminaire run times and lamp failures in real time.
